Regional Planning Manager

Your new role
Our client is seeking an experienced
Regional Planning Manager
to oversee and drive programme delivery across multiple projects in the
North of England. You will take ownership of planning, scheduling, and resource management at a regional level, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to budget. This is a senior leadership role that combines technical planning expertise with strategic oversight, providing input to both commercial and operational teams.
Responsibilities will include:
Leading regional planning and programme management across multiple live construction projects.
Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules, resource plans, and milestone tracking.
Monitoring progress and performance, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies.
Coordinating with project managers, QS teams, and site management to ensure programme alignment.
Reviewing critical path schedules and advising on acceleration measures when required.
Managing and mentoring a team of planners, providing guidance and performance support.
Reporting to senior management on programme performance, risk, and forecast outcomes.
Ensuring compliance with company procedures, safety regulations, and contractual obligations.
Driving continuous improvement in planning processes and systems.
What you will need to succeed:
Proven experience as a
Planning Manager
or
Regional Planning Lead
within construction.
Strong knowledge of
programme management, including Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
Experience managing multiple, high-value projects simultaneously.
Solid understanding of
groundworks, new build, refurbishment, or
fit-out
programmes.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to mentor and develop a team of planners across multiple sites.
Understanding of JCT, NEC, or equivalent forms of construction contracts.
A strategic thinker with the ability to balance operational delivery with long-term programme planning.
