Location: Lancaster
Contract: Full-Time, Long Term - Ongoing
Start Date: September 2025
Are you someone who can spot the magic in a moment and speak volumes with a smile? We're on the lookout for a caring, patient, and quietly brilliant Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a non-verbal Reception pupil starting this September in a welcoming primary school in Lancaster.
This isn't just about helping a child learn - it's helping them be heard.
What You'll Be Doing:
Supporting a non-verbal Reception pupil during the school day.
Helping them access learning through tailored communication strategies.
Encouraging social development, independence, and all the tiny wins in between.
Collaborating with teachers, speech and language therapists, and support staff.
Keeping track of progress and sharing updates with the team and family.
Who We're Looking For:
Someone with experience supporting young children, ideally those with communication difficulties.
A calm, patient, and empathetic soul who understands that words aren't the only way we speak.
Familiarity with alternative communication methods (Makaton or BSL) is a big plus.
A flexible team player with a can-do attitude and a big heart.
Qualifications in SEND or communication support? Great! But personality and passion go a long way, too.
Why This Role?
Because you'll be making a real difference. Every day. You'll help give a child the tools to connect with the world - and that's special.
