We are pleased to be recruiting for this key senior leadership role on a Retained project basis.

This role could suit an individual currently holding a divisional leadership position within a larger group environment or, equally, someone occupying the number one finance role in an SME business setting.

Are you a strategic, operationally focused finance leader looking to make a real impact at the heart of a major UK business?

Our client, a global leader in sustainable manufacturing solutions, is seeking a Country Financial Controller to join their dynamic UK leadership team.

This is a unique opportunity to step into the top finance role for a nationally significant division, responsible for driving financial performance and partnering closely with operational colleagues across numerous key UK production sites and a commercial trading arm.

What’s on offer:

*

A senior finance leadership role, reporting directly into the UK Managing Director and with a dotted line to the European CFO

*

The opportunity to work at the forefront of sustainable operations, supporting a business with a deep commitment to environmental responsibility and innovation

*

A competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package

*

Significant opportunities for professional growth and influence within a highly respected, forward-thinking organisation

*

The chance to work closely with operational, commercial, and group stakeholders, shaping strategic direction and driving performance

About the role:
As Country Financial Controller, you will take the lead on all financial matters for the UK divisional business. Working as part of dynamic UK leadership team, you will be the senior-most finance professional in the country, collaborating closely with the UK Managing Director and providing key support to the wider European finance function.

You will:

*

Be responsible for the full spectrum of financial operations for the UK division, ensuring timely and accurate reporting for both sites and group requirements

*

Partner with operational site leaders and senior management to drive financial performance and achieve strategic objectives

*

Prepare annual budgets, deliver quarterly updates, and support ongoing business planning with insightful analysis and recommendations

*

Oversee compliance requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley controls and the group’s robust governance framework

*

Manage and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration

*

Provide expert guidance on capital expenditure, fixed asset management, and working capital optimisation

*

Support the development and deployment of financial systems (SAP), and lead on digital transformation initiatives to enhance reporting and decision-making

*

Deliver clear, in-depth analysis to inform operational and strategic capex decisions across the business

*

Manage relationships and negotiate commercial terms with external advisors, including auditors, property managers, and insurance partners

*

Travel regularly to UK operational sites, building close relationships with colleagues and ensuring a hands-on, visible finance leadership presence

What you’ll need to succeed:

*

A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA or ACCA), with at least five years’ post-qualification experience – ideally in a service-led, manufacturing or industrial environment

*

Demonstrable experience in leading finance teams and supporting senior management in a fast-paced, operationally focused business

*

A track record of driving process improvements, embedding best practice controls, and ensuring compliance within complex organisations

*

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence, advise, and support colleagues at all levels

*

Advanced financial systems and IT skills, with experience of SAP and group reporting packages highly desirable

*

Proactive, resilient, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure

*

Willingness and flexibility to travel within the UK and occasionally (quarterly|) within Europe

*

A collaborative, team-oriented approach with excellent organisational skills

If you are an ambitious, commercially astute finance leader ready to play a pivotal role in a business with a global reach and a strong sustainability ethos, we would love to hear from you.
