The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for someone early in their Health & Safety career to join a complex, multi-department site and develop into a key H&S professional. The business operates in a unique environment bridging food and pharmaceutical standards, offering excellent exposure and long-term career development.

The Role
Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager, you will play a key role in supporting and improving the site’s Health, Safety & Environmental systems.
This is a hands-on position, with the majority of your time spent on the factory floor engaging with teams, identifying risks and driving a positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Health & Safety Manager with day-to-day site activities
* Conduct audits, inspections, and follow up on actions
* Assist with accident and incident investigations
* Maintain compliance logs and ensure actions are completed
* Coordinate training records and identify gaps in the training matrix
* Support COSHH assessments and maintain documentation
* Assist with contractor compliance (RAMS, insurance, documentation)
* Coordinate PPE stock and occupational health activities
* Help maintain and continuously improve H&S systems and procedures

About You
* 1–2 years’ experience in a Health & Safety or similar support role
* Some exposure to audits, inspections, or risk assessments
* NEBOSH / IOSH (or working towards) desirable
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Confident communicator, comfortable working on the shop floor
* Proactive, hands-on, and eager to learn
