Key responsibilities
Guest bedrooms and bathrooms
• Clean and reset guest rooms to the required standard, including beds, bathrooms, floors, surfaces and touch points
• Replenish amenities and guest supplies, including Brambley toiletries and Nespresso pods where provided
• Check room presentation carefully, including lighting, mirrors, odours, windows, skirting, dust lines and finishing touches
• Report any damage, missing items or wear and tear immediately
• Follow room turnaround priorities and stay flexible during high occupancy periods
Public areas
• Maintain clean and inviting public spaces, including entrances, corridors, stairs, toilets and staff areas
• Keep housekeeping cupboards and storage areas clean, organised and safely stocked
• Support the wider team with any housekeeping needs during service times, when appropriate
Laundry and linen standards
• Sort, bag and store linen correctly
• Support linen counts and stock rotation
• Handle stained items appropriately and report recurring issues
• Keep linen rooms and laundry areas clean and safe
Stock control and equipment
• Use chemicals safely and correctly, following COSHH guidance
• Monitor cleaning supplies and report low stock in good time
• Use equipment properly, keep it clean and report faults immediately
Guest experience
• Be friendly and professional with guests, offering help when you can and directing queries to the right person
• Respect guest privacy at all times and follow key control procedures
• Handle lost property in line with site procedures
Health and safety, compliance and standards
• Follow all health and safety procedures, including safe lifting and safe chemical use
• Work safely, tidy as you go, and help maintain a safe environment for guests and the team
• Maintain high standards without cutting corners, even under time pressure
What we are looking for
Essential
• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience, ideally within hospitality
• Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
• Reliable, punctual and able to work at pace
• A positive attitude and willingness to help the wider team
• Ability to work weekends and bank holidays as part of a rota
Desirable
• Experience in an inn, hotel, pub with rooms, or boutique property
• Confidence using housekeeping checklists and room standards
• Understanding of COSHH and safe chemical handling
