Role Overview As an Independent Quantity Surveyor, you will manage the financial and contractual aspects of multiple live projects. This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional who can work autonomously while contributing to successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) Oversee project budgets and cost control throughout the lifecycle Produce accurate cost reports, forecasts, and valuations Evaluate subcontractor quotations and assess payment claims Liaise with project teams to ensure efficient cost management Maintain contractual compliance and manage risk exposure Provide commercial support during project delivery and close-out What We’re Looking For Essential: Proven experience in Quantity Surveying within civil engineering or construction Strong knowledge of drainage, concrete, and infrastructure works Excellent skills in BOQ preparation, cost planning, and reporting High level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or related field Desirable: Experience in the drainage and concrete sector specifically Commercial awareness and ability to interpret contracts Familiarity with cost management software and tools What’s on Offer Competitive rate Flexibility to manage your own schedule Long-term opportunities with a strong project pipeline Supportive team environment with room for professional input Based out of Lichfield.
