Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Medway Green School, Wouldham, Rochester, ME1 3TS
Salary: £20,906.25 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday 08:30 - 16:00
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
UK applicants only. This role does offer sponsorship.
This role may participate in a 4-Day Working Week trial where approved by the school and group policy. If the trial is successful, the 4DWW may be rolled out across the group.
As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join our close-knit and supportive team at Medway Green School, located in Kent.
About The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of our students. You’ll work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. You’ll be providing tailored support to individual students or small groups, helping them access the curriculum and encouraging independence, confidence, and success.
Responsibilities
* Support the class teacher/tutor in delivering high-quality education for all students.
* Assist with the implementation of school policies and procedures, ensuring a consistent and effective learning experience.
* Provide appropriate and personalised support to students, enabling them to engage with the curriculum as independently as possible.
* Promote the physical, educational, and moral development of students in line with company values and policies.
* Help manage classroom equipment and resources, reporting any maintenance needs as necessary.
* Contribute to the organisation of the classroom, including student groupings, displays, and learning materials, with consideration for the needs of students with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.

* A genuine interest in working with students with SEMH or additional needs
* The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
* Patience, resilience, and a proactive mindset
* Experience in an educational or residential setting (desirable but not essential)
* A willingness to learn and develop within the role
* A full UK Driving Licence is preferred but not essential - we have students participating in various offsite activities each week, so staff flexibility to support these outings is highly valued

Medway Green School is a special needs provision that provides for students whose SEMH/SEN needs have resulted in placement breakdown at their mainstream schools. We provide a nurturing and welcoming environment to SEMH students in Key stages 2-4, with a future move to Key stages 3-4. The school focuses on therapy, education and personal development to help pupils grow academically, socially and emotionally.
Opened in 2019, Medway Green School presently provides education to 67 students, with a capacity of 70. Outcomes First Group is the UK’s leading independent provider of specialist education.
