A well‑established organisation in the automotive marketing space is hiring a Principal Full Stack Engineer to join at a key moment of transformation. Their platforms power high‑intent buying journeys, processing hundreds of thousands of customer interactions each year for some of the world’s biggest automotive brands.
They’re now rebuilding a core platform from the ground up on a modern Node.js stack, while reshaping the engineering function around an AI‑first approach. Strong foundations are already in place, but there’s still plenty of greenfield and real opportunity to shape both the product and how the team operates.
The role:
Principal Full Stack Engineer (backend‑leaning). You’ll be central to the rebuild, shaping architecture, setting standards and working directly with product and leadership. Small, senior team. High ownership.
What you’ll do
* Lead design of key parts of a brand‑new platform
* Build and own backend services, APIs and data pipelines at scale
* Make architecture decisions that the wider team builds on
* Stay hands‑on while mentoring senior engineers
* Partner closely with product and leadership on priorities and trade‑offs
* Help embed AI tooling into everyday engineering workflows
* Node.js, TypeScript
* React / Next.js
* Cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS or GCP also relevant)
* AI tooling integrated into development workflows
