About the Role: We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Children’s Residential Support Worker to join our team in a children’s home near Chippenham, supporting young people with learning disabilities and additional needs.

Our home uses trauma-informed care, ensuring that all children feel safe, understood, and supported in an environment that acknowledges and responds to their past experiences.

The children may display behaviours that challenge, and you will be trained and supported to respond in a positive, safe, and constructive way.

This role involves providing high-quality care in a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where children can develop independence, confidence, and life skills.

As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping children achieve their potential while promoting their emotional, social, and physical wellbeing.

Hours: We operate a shift-based rota including weekdays, weekends, school holidays, and night shifts.

Shift details:
Waking Night Position: 1x 33 hour contract
Support Worker Position: full-time and part-time contracts up to 40 hours
Term Time (Weekdays) 7:00am – 11:00am & 1:30pm – 9:00pm
Night Shifts 9:00pm – 8:00am
School Holidays & Weekends 7:00am – 2:30pm & 1:30pm – 9:00pm


Key Responsibilities

* Provide day-to-day care and support to children with learning disabilities in a residential setting.
* Support children with daily routines, including personal care, meals, education and activities.
* Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
* Encourage and support independence, life skills and personal development.
* Plan and participate in activities, outings and recreational opportunities.
* Maintain accurate records, reports and care plans in line with safeguarding policies.
* Work closely with families, social workers and other professionals.
* Promote a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment.
* Follow all safeguarding, trauma-informed care practices and health & safety procedures.
