Overview
Senior Brand Designer role at Monzo Bank (London, Hybrid). The role focuses on shaping Monzo’s visual identity, delivering high-quality design solutions aligned with strategic goals, and driving innovative ideas as a conceptual thinker.
Responsibilities
* Lead end-to-end projects from ideation to execution, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
* Generate excellent ideas and articulate them clearly, visually and verbally, including campaigns, typography refinement, and asset animation.
* Collaborate with external agency partners on design concepts and campaigns.
* Demonstrate deep branding knowledge and show how you’ve created new work or evolved existing brand assets.
* Contribute hands-on design work—craft campaigns, refine typography, and animate assets as needed.
* Apply expertise in typography to create visually appealing and readable designs.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, product development, project management) to deliver cohesive design solutions.
* Provide art direction and motion concepts for in-app experiences in collaboration with product teams.
What We’re Looking For
* A proven track record in design roles with a strong portfolio showing branding, art direction, campaigns, and typography.
* Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) and Figma; motion skills or 3D programs are a plus.
* Strong understanding of design principles, color theory, and typography.
* Experience leading design projects and mentoring junior designers.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate design concepts to internal teams and clients.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
* Experience in fast-paced tech startups or creative agencies working on global brands.
* Experience in additional areas such as web design, print design, storyboarding, art direction, film.
* Strategic mindset for designing within a brand and evolving within brand guidelines.
What’s In It For You
Salary £58,000 – £72,000 with share options. This role can be based in our London office. We offer flexible working hours, a £1,000 learning budget each year, and remote work support with Macbooks provided.

Application Process
The application journey has 3 key steps: a 30-minute call with our Recruiter, a 1-hour craft interview presenting a single case study to two Brand Design team members, and a 1-hour interview covering values and ways of working.
