We are working on behalf of an SEN school based in Worcestershire who are looking for an SEN Cover Supervisor to carry out long-term cover.
Please find details below:
1. The role would be to start as soon as possible and would be till the end of the academic year and possibly into September
2. The role is Monday to Friday, am – pm and the role would be on a term-time only temporary time sheet basis with the teacher being paid to scale in line with their experience and qualifications
3. You would be covering lessons for pupils aged from 11–16 years of age who have been excluded or are at the risk of being excluded from mainstream due to social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges
4. Some pupils also have other special needs, such as ASC and ADHD
5. You need to have an empathy and understanding for working with children with SEMH and have strong behaviour management
6. The school consists of close-knit team who support each other, and they have strong leadership and are driven by giving their pupils the opportunity to thrive and turn their lives around
7. The school is well resourced and has a good atmosphere in line with the strong team ethos of the staff and try to mirror a mainstream school as much as possible in their working practices
8. Experience of Team Teach or similar de-escalation techniques is desirable but not essential
