This is for a Degree level Apprenticeship only you must:
* Be 18 years or over before the start date (September 2026)
* Have the right to live and work in England (if you are on a visa, this needs to enable you to legally work and reside in England for the entire duration of the programme until September 2030).
* Have at least 5 GCSEs C grade (grade 4) or above including Maths and English
* Three A levels (or equivalent) at C (grade 4) or above in either Mathematics, IT, Physics, or an Engineering related subject, OR have completed a BTEC level 3 engineering qualification of 180 credits which must include further mathematics
* Previous qualifications will be reviewed for funding eligibility and offers are subject to funding approval
* This Apprenticeship assumes the candidate has little or no knowledge/experience of the occupation and is NOT suitable for candidates who already have a similar or higher-level qualification in the same or similar subject of the apprenticeship

What You'll Do: you'll work alongside experienced engineers on real lab automation projects
* Learn hands-on mechanical engineering skills, including assembly, fitting, and precision work
* Assist with building, testing, and maintaining mechanical systems and robotic machinery
* Support the manufacture and installation of bespoke automation equipment
* Read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Develop problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills to start your engineering career
Optional but advantageous:
* A strong interest in mechanical engineering, robotics, or automation
* Curious, practical, and keen to learn how things work
* Motivated, reliable, and proactive
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Good attention to detail and communication skills
* Experience using tools, building kits, or mechanical projects
* Participation in STEM clubs, robotics teams, or engineering competitions
* Personal projects involving mechanics, design, or fabrication
* Work experience or taster sessions in workshops or engineering environments
