We are seeking a patient, empathetic, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Southend, starting as soon as possible. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils with additional learning needs and helping them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to provide targeted support for pupils. You will help pupils access lessons, develop independence, and achieve their learning goals while promoting confidence, positive behaviour, and social skills. Your role will include one-to-one and small group interventions.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
* Assist in implementing personalised learning plans and EHCP targets
* Support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally
* Promote independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours
* Help pupils engage fully with lessons and classroom activities
* Observe, monitor, and record pupil progress accurately
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and support staff
* Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals when required
* Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
* Support pupils during transitions, break times, and structured activities
* Attend staff meetings, training, and CPD sessions
* Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
