We are currently seeking a dedicated and analytical Assistant Group Accountant on a Fixed Term basis to join our finance team at Victrex. This is an exceptional opportunity for a finance professional to grow their career within a dynamic and forward-thinking company. This role will be offered on a 12 month fixed term contract. The working pattern for this role is hybrid, with and expectation to be onsite for a minimum of 2 days per week.
About the Role
As an Assistant Group Accountant at Victrex, you will play a key role in supporting our finance department with a range of accounting duties. This is a fixed term position, perfect for an individual who is keen to develop their professional skills in a globally recognised company.
Key Responsibilities
* Assistance with monthly financial reporting and analysis
* Support in the preparation and delivery of statutory financial statements
* Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes
* Maintenance of accounting records and reconciliation of accounts
* Help ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
* Collaborate with internal departments to support financial operations and audits
* Identify inefficiencies and propose solutions to ensure continuous streamlining of the month end process
* Work alongside and support regional finance teams
* Ad-hoc financial projects as required
* The role will include training on and exposure to our different software tools, as well experience of a new system implementation
* Other opportunities for work include working on taxation, VAT, capital & inventory
What You Will Bring
The ideal candidate will have finance or accounting experience in a similar role. Progressing towards completion of an accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification) as a minimum is essential. We are looking for individuals who are driven, meticulous, and have a proactive approach to their work.
Skills and Experience
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficiency in accounting ERP software and MS Office
* Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Knowledge of financial regulations and reporting requirements
