Men's Performance Squad Assistant Coach - Paid

St. Albans Hockey Club are looking to recruit a passionate and enthusiastic coach to expand their Men’s Performance Squad Coaching team. This is a paid role at a competitive rate according to the experience of the successful candidate and their level of involvement. As well as the competitive pay, another key attraction of this role is the opportunity to work with, and be mentored by, highly experienced coach educator; Martin Langston and current Head Coach; Paul Cooper. Martin boasts international coaching and managerial experience alongside a national league coaching and playing career. Paul knows exactly what it takes to be successful and carve your path to the top at a large hockey club with a storied St. Albans Hockey Club career, playing, captaining and now coaching. For any coach looking to further their career and skills this is an invaluable and exciting prospect.
The successful candidate will be the Men’s 2nd Team Head Coach and work collaboratively with the Head of Performance Development and Head of Performance Squad to help drive the vision and strategy for the 2s’ squad and the Performance Squad members. The role will include responsibility for session planning and talented youth development within the high-performance environment already established at St. Albans.
An applicable England Hockey coaching qualification or equivalent is required, alongside excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The Performance Squad and Men’s 2s train on Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:30 – 9:30pm and the Men’s 2s play in East Division 1 South.
We are willing to offer flexibility to the right candidate whether this is coaching from the sidelines or leading from the pitch.
