We are now recruiting for Skilled/Experienced Butcher Operatives to join our team.
Job Purpose: Responsible for boning, butchering, trimming, and finishing red meat for sale and consumption in accordance with client specifications and Company SOPs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform boning, butchering, trimming, and finishing tasks at line speed.
* Participate fully in Lean Manufacturing processes and embrace new methods of working.
* Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner to meet daily targets.
* Ensure product is of the highest standard, reporting any issues to the Line supervisor immediately.
* Be familiar with the daily production plan and work as part of the team to set up the line, complete checks, and ensure materials are ready to use.
* Perform all prestart, hygiene, and safety checks as instructed.
* Maintain good understanding of customer specifications and yields.
* Comply with quality specifications and understand yield values.
* Follow the company’s knife and health and safety rules, including hygiene requirements.
* Report all breakages, damages, or defaults of equipment immediately to Line Supervisor, and only use equipment when safe to do so.
* Report any accidents or near misses, and assist with investigations as instructed/necessary.
* Minimize and report waste appropriately.
* Finish products to the required specifications.
* Maintain and securely store tools and equipment.
* Actively participate in all required company training.
* Perform any other duties as instructed by supervisors/management within your competency.
Requirements:
* Competence and significant experience in butchery and/or knife skills are essential.
* Previous experience in a high-volume meat processing factory is highly beneficial.
* Able to work in a chilled environment.
* Manual handling ability and awareness.
* Fluent in English, with good communication skills in written and oral form with multi-national teams.
* Flexibility to meet daily production targets.
* Consistent approach and strong work ethic.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Adaptable to change and production demands.
* Passion for food.
