The team…
Gateshead Libraries and Heritage service offers free access to books and computers from 8 libraries across Gateshead. We also deliver a cultural programme of activities to residents of all ages, including author events, family activities, talks, and creative workshops. Our heritage collection, held in Gateshead Archive, includes books, maps, photographs, and newspapers documenting the borough's history.
About the role…
We are looking to recruit a dynamic individual into this new role, to deliver responsive and timely business support to Libraries and Heritage. You will work closely with the Libraries and Heritage Manager to assist in developing and leading the delivery of business support services. You will oversee our back office systems, including financial and HR systems, supervise our clerical team, and train team members in our systems and processes.
You must be proficient in IT systems and Microsoft packages, including Excel. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, with experience in supervising staff.
You should be committed to delivering excellent customer care, with attention to detail and accuracy. Confidence in designing and implementing new systems is essential.
The role is office-based at Gateshead Central Library. Working days are flexible, and you will be able to join our flexi-time scheme.
