SRM Recruitment are engaged in a search for a London-headquartered diversified real estate group for a Head of FP&A. Our client operates with a relatively flat structure, where the FP&A function is still evolving and at times "wear multiple hats". They’re seeking a candidate who thrives in an environment where there is an element of both setting their own agenda, being a self starter that can truly own building more structured and robust reporting frameworks. The Head of FP&A will also be responsible for producing high-quality, accurate, and actionable operational information to support budget holders, the C-suite, and investment/asset managers, but will also be responsible for periodic reporting. Accounting Prepare and analyse annual MSCI property bench-marking submissions with asset managers. Prepare the annual property business budget. Develop long-term financial forecasts. Oversee quarterly service charge reporting reconciliation. Analysis and Reporting Provide reporting structures to support teams in increasing income and reducing costs. Enhance property-level profitability analysis, prioritising non-recoverable costs and detailed budgeting. Analyse investment property portfolio aspects, including lease expiry profiles, rent reviews, breaches, and vacancy rates. Conduct financial analysis of the group's portfolio, with focus on gross to net performance. Enhance reporting through use of charts and visualisations for management and business. Draft and finalise the annual Operational Review, monitor adherence to specified actions. Report quarterly spend on Sustainability and Marketing against budget. Manage development spend tracker monthly. Conduct vacancy analysis for residential and commercial units, review long-term vacancies. Track sustainability (EPC) upgrades and compliance with current standards. Investment Appraisal Collaborate with asset/investment management and building surveyor teams on cash flow projections for developments, comparing against original budgets and final costs. Oversee pre and post project appraisals on refurbishments and developments per procurement procedures. Systems Evaluate options for improved reporting systems, such as Power BI. Team Leadership and Development Lead a number of more junior members of the finance team (direct reports: 4) in training, appraisal, performance management, and recruitment. Facilitate professional development opportunities for team members. The successful candidate is likely to be/have: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA or CIMA) probably around 4 years PQE and already operating in a commercial finance / FP&A role. Our client is open to a candidate that is practiced trained with industry experience, or an industry trained ACCA/CIMA. Experience in the real estate industry would be desitable but not essential, but if you are not working in property/real estate then the successful candidate would need to be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in operating within the sector. Experienced with overseeing / developing a team Consistent with the point raised earlier in the advert; FP&A in our clients team is very much an evolving function that is still not fully matured yet so an ability to drive your own timetables and develop reporting requirements would be needed. Communication skills suitable for various internal and external stakeholders. Our client is central London located and operate a four days p/w working in the office pattern, with one from home.
