The role
We are working with a large, inclusive all-through academy in Northumberland to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to support students across KS3–KS5. The school places a strong emphasis on inclusion, personal development, and academic achievement underpinned by supportive pastoral care.
As an LSA you’ll work closely with teachers, SEND leads, and pastoral staff to help pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop independence.

Key responsibilities
5. Support pupils with SEND, SEMH, or additional learning needs both 1:1 and in small groups
6. Assist teachers in the classroom to promote engagement and understanding
7. Support behaviour, emotional regulation, and confidence
8. Work collaboratively with SEN and pastoral teams to monitor progress
9. Contribute to a calm, inclusive, and purposeful learning environment
The ideal candidate
10. Experience working with children / young people (education, care, youth work, tutoring, etc.)
11. Calm, patient, and proactive approach
12. Strong communication and relationship-building skills
13. Enthusiasm for supporting inclusive education
14. Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
