Job Summary
we are seeking a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic individual to help assist in the day-to-day running of The Lounge. You will be a key part of the customers experience with us and will be doing different tasks between the front of house and the kitchen, therefore we need a restaurant assistant who is confident they can make the customer's experience as enjoyable as possible. Please bear in mind when applying this is a role in which you will be cross trained and will not be designated strictly to one role.
Responsibilities
* Help to run food between the kitchen and customers. Whilst doing this you will be expected to check the standards of meals you are running.
* Tend to customers. This does not necessarily mean you must know how to make all drinks before hand as we may include training, however you will assist the process.
* Assist in the preparation of meals by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as required.
* Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace, ensuring all utensils and equipment are properly cleaned and stored.
* Follow food safety protocols to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are maintained at all times.
* Support chefs and cooks during service by preparing ingredients and assisting with plating dishes.
* Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting any shortages to the kitchen manager.
* Participate in catering events as needed, assisting with meal preparation and service.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is preferred but not essential.
* Understanding of food safety practices and hygiene standards.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy setting.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.
