Procurement Manager Hull £60k Client and role ; Our client is a specialist in the design and manufacture of high integrity heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment for offshore oil and gas, nuclear, marine, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, process and energy sectors. The Procurement Manager, is responsible for acquiring the goods and services the company needs to operate, while managing supplier relationships and ensuring cost-effective purchasing. The Purchasing Manager develops and implements purchasing strategies, negotiate contracts, and ensure the quality of goods and services. In essence, the Procurement Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that a company can procure the goods and services it needs in a cost-effective, efficient, and timely manner, while also managing the relationships with its suppliers and ensuring the quality of its products and services Duties ; Define, develop, negotiate and contract strategic sourcing solutions that meet the businesses' needs and enhance profitability by controlling/reducing costs, imprving payment terms, reducing inventory and optimising supply chain efficiencies Negotiate for minimising the cost of materials and get the best possible price Develop sourcing plan for both local and international sources, so that fast and effective sourcing options are possible Provide guidelines and prepare sourcing contract with trade agreement Procurement of raw materials and supplies based on the company's demand and supply Evaluation of quality of raw materials so that right quality materials can be sourced Perform and analyse monthly forecasting reports to ensure optimal inventory levels Coordinate with production planning for contract manufacture to ensure customer on time delivery in full Support (direct and indirect) material spend budgeting activities Challenge suppliers and internal customers to identify and implement innovative designs, value-add specification changes concepts and materials Assisting the team with executing new product development; develop and implement quality specifications during trial productions and beyond Evaluation of supplier performance and enhancement Achieve a reliable and acceptable standard of planning, project and production Support monthly reporting requirements Prioritise own workload in order to meet project / business needs Develop and maintain key contacts both internally and externally General duties as delegated within the overall range of the post To comply with employee duties and responsibilities under health and safety legislation and comply with Company rules as detailed in various health and safety policies and procedures.
