Our client is recruiting an O&M EC&I (Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation) Technician to work with their Operation & Maintenance (O&M) team on site in Slough.
You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation, control circuits, and equipment related to processes. Supporting the entire facility operation, you will ensure the plant operates in compliance with established production schedules and plant requirements.
Job Responsibilities
1. Perform skilled electrical and technical work, including testing, inspection, and repair of complex mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic instruments within the process systems and equipment.
2. Install, maintain, perform preventive maintenance (PM), repair, calibrate, and adjust various mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and other instrumentation and analyzers. Maintain all power transmission lines, transformers, electrical motors, instruments, controls, and related equipment.
3. Maintain, inspect, test, adjust, and repair instrumentation of all types of equipment, including generators, AC and DC motors, MOVs, turbine controls, DC systems, and other plant auxiliaries.
4. Keep accurate detailed records of installation, preventive maintenance, and repair activities of all plant instrumentation equipment. Maintain all blueprints and OEM manuals in an organized manner.
5. Perform work requiring thorough knowledge of instrument applications and the operation of electrical and mechanical principles involved in repair, testing, and calibration. Maintain alarms and automatic shutdown systems activated by process variables. Knowledge of PLC and DCS systems is necessary to troubleshoot and analyze logic circuitry, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical circuitry.
Qualifications
* Recognized engineering apprenticeship.
* IOSH Managing Safely certification.
* HNC/D qualification in engineering is desirable.
* Approximately 5+ years of experience as an instrumentation, control, and automation technician, ideally in a similar industry.
* Familiarity with HSE standards, procedures, and requirements; ability to control plant operations safely and efficiently.
* Advanced knowledge in the repair and calibration of transmitters, analyzers, and scales.
* Familiarity with DC and other emergency systems.
* Understanding and experience with PLC and DCS systems.
