Overview
Rampton Hospital is seeking dedicated Male Healthcare Assistants to support patients with complex mental health and learning disability needs. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a secure hospital environment delivering meaningful care and therapeutic support. Visa sponsorship is not guaranteed due to current salary limitations under UK Skilled Worker visa rules.
About the Role
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital part in supporting patient wellbeing, safety, and recovery. You’ll work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to maintain a high standard of care.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients with complex needs
* Facilitate and participate in therapeutic or meaningful activities on the ward
* Escort patients on out-of-grounds visits as part of treatment programs
* Accurately carry out and record clinical observations under supervision
* Collaborate with patients, their families, carers, and healthcare professionals
* Promote patient dignity, respect, and safety at all times
* Support patients’ recovery through a psychological, occupational, and educational care approach
Who We’re Looking For
We are particularly interested in candidates who:
* Understand the unique environment and responsibilities of Rampton Hospital
* Have experience or awareness of working with individuals with mental health conditions or learning disabilities
* Exhibit professionalism, empathy, and a responsible approach to patient care
* Are male, due to the specific needs of the patient population in this unit
Important Visa Information
Please note:
* This role does not meet the minimum salary requirement for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.
* Applicants without prior NHS experience will start at the bottom of Band 2 under Agenda for Change pay scale.

* Annual Salary: £24,070 – £25,670 (Band 2, NHS Agenda for Change)
