Phlebotomist Vacancy
Hours:25–30 hours per week
Working Pattern:Monday to Friday (hours to be agreed)

We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and patient‑focused Phlebotomistto join our friendly and supportive primary care team from August 2026. This is a permanent position for 25–30 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday, with daily start and finish times to be agreed.
The Role
The successful candidate will deliver a high‑quality phlebotomy service and support additional clinical activities within the practice, including blood pressure monitoring and NHS Health Checks. You will work closely with the nursing, GP, and administrative teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake venepuncture in accordance with practice protocols and infection control standards
* Accurately label, handle, and prepare blood samples for transport
* Measure and record blood pressureand other relevant observations as required
* Undertake NHS Health Checksin line with national and local guidelines
* Ensure correct patient identification and clearly explain procedures
* Recognise and respond appropriately to patient distress or adverse reactions
* Maintain clean, safe clinical areas and equipment
* Record and maintain accurate clinical data on the practice clinical system
* Work in accordance with practice policies, procedures, confidentiality, and GDPR
Essential Criteria
* Proven experience in phlebotomy
* Relevant phlebotomy qualification or equivalent training
* Ability to take accurate blood pressure readings
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail
* Understanding of infection control and patient confidentiality
Desirable Criteria
* Experience working in a GP practice or NHS setting
* Experience undertaking NHS Health Checks
* Knowledge of clinical system TPP SystmOne
* Care Certificate (or willingness to work towards)
