Job DescriptionEtc - Engineering Supply Chain ProfessionalReq ID: 58267Posting Start Date: 11/05/2026Job Function: EngineeringDivision: Strategy & ChangeJob Location: GBR Oswestry TEC/MTW, GBR-Manchester-New BaileyAdvertised Salary: Competitive salary and benefitsAbout the roleThis role sits within BT’s Counter‑Drone team and is responsible for managing the end‑to‑end physical, logistical, and supply‑chain lifecycle of customer‑facing equipment.The Engineering Supply Chain Professional ensures equipment is received from suppliers, staged, configured, updated, tested, supported in‑life, returned, repaired through suppliers, and redeployed, while coordinating all associated import, export, and logistics activities.By maintaining equipment readiness, feedback loops from in‑life use, and controlled re‑deployment, the role directly supports innovation by enabling rapid trial‑to‑operation transitions, reducing friction in scaling new capabilities, and ensuring emerging Counter‑Drone technologies can be introduced, iterated, and sustained reliably. The role acts as the single point of control for equipment custody, spares holdings, RMAs, and international movements, ensuring customer systems remain operational and compliant with regulatory and contractual requirementsWhat you’ll be doingOwn the end‑to‑end physical, logistical, and supply‑chain lifecycle of customer‑facing Counter‑Drone equipmentReceive equipment from approved suppliers and verify quantities, serial numbers, and conditionMaintain full asset tracking, chain of custody, and equipment status recordsStage customer‑allocated equipment and manage clear separation between live, spare, and faulted assetsConfigure equipment to approved customer baselinesApply authorised firmware and software updates and record configuration statesPerform functional checks and validation prior to deployment or return to serviceSupport in‑life customer equipment through controlled handling and readiness assuranceReceive and manage returned equipment from customer sites and field teamsPerform first‑line diagnostics to validate and categorise reported faultsRaise and manage RMAs with suppliers, including packaging and back‑loading equipment for repairReceive repaired or replacement equipment from suppliers and re‑validate functionalityManage spares holdings and coordinate customer back‑fill to minimise operational downtimeRe‑stage, reset, and prepare equipment for redeployment following repair or updateCoordinate delivery and collection of equipment to and from customer sitesManage import and export of equipment and spares in line with customs and export‑control requirementsPrepare and validate shipping documentation for domestic and international movementsAct as the primary supply‑chain interface between suppliers, engineering teams, logistics partners, and customersProvide controlled feedback from in‑life equipment use to support continuous improvement and the introduction of new or evolving Counter‑Drone capabilitiesEssential Skills / ExperienceExperience in warehouse operations, logistics, or equipment lifecycle managementExposure to import/export processes or regulated goods movementAbility to manage RMAs, repairs, and supplier interactionsConfidence performing basic technical diagnostics and equipment testingStrong asset tracking, documentation, and organisational skillsFull UK driving licenceDesirable Skills / ExperienceComfortable working in secure or regulated environments Experience managing customer‑owned or customer‑allocated equipmentKnowledge of export control or customs proceduresExperience managing international shipmentsAbility to obtain government Security ClearanceExperience operating dronesExposure to RF, security, surveillance, or sensor systemsExperience working with defence, government, or critical infrastructure customersFamiliarity with asset, maintenance, or ERP systemsOur PackageTailored benefits make a real difference.
