Our team may be small, but we’re full of energy and always on the go. You’ll play a vital part in keeping our car parks and Park and Ride sites welcoming and in top condition for the many people who visit Canterbury each year. When equipment in the car parks plays up, you’ll be the first on the scene to help get things back on track. Plus, you’ll be on hand to support visitors, responding to any requests for assistance in our car parks and Park and Ride locations.

About This Parking And Transport Officer Job In Canterbury
If you join us as a Parking and Transport Officer, you’ll find every day has a bit of variety.
You’ll be out and about checking our key sites across the district, making sure everything’s in good order. If you spot any issues, you’ll flag them up quickly so nothing gets left unresolved. Part of your time will be spent doing some hands‑on maintenance with our car park equipment, so things keep ticking over nicely. You’ll also keep an eye on our ANPR systems, helping to make sure that everyone using our car parks has as smooth and hassle‑free an experience as possible.
About you, the ideal Parking and Transport Officer for the job
Your Knowledge
* An awareness of parking restrictions is highly desirable along with knowledge of key legislation (Traffic Management Act).
Your skills
* Able to communicate tactfully and effectively with the public and deal with difficult or confrontational situations.
* Ability to work effectively as a member of a team as well as on own.
* Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail.
Your experience
* Experience of working with members of the public.
Due to the nature of this role, the successful applicant will be required to undertake a standard DBS check as part of their pre‑employment clearances.
