Drainage Engineer Van Pack – Lanes Group
Position: Van Pack Drainage Engineer
Location: Ryemeads Treatment Works, Home Counties North Region (Ware, Hertfordshire)
Job Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours plus every other weekend (working both early and late shifts)
Salary: OTE £37,000 per annum (basic pay, overtime, on call allowance and bonuses)

About The Role
* Travelling to residential sites in a van to provide high‑pressure water jet for restoration.
* Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems.
* Record each job report correctly on specialist equipment provided.
* Run diagnostics and repairs on drains.
* Deliver good customer service.
* Maintain good health and safety practice while carrying out works.
* Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished.
* Comply with health & safety responsibilities (PPE / safe site setups).
* Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.
* Work unsupervised in all weather conditions, wearing correct PPE and utilising the lone worker system.
* Dynamic risk assess site access and working conditions.
* Liaise with the client regarding process and updates.
* Provide support to colleagues.
* Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before and after use.
* Report any defects or malfunctions.
* Carry out risk assessments and maintain realistic risk perception.
* Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and responsibilities towards them.
* Any other reasonable ad‑hoc tasks, duties or projects as requested by management.
What is essential is the ability to work safely to quickly diagnose and deliver practical and efficient solutions to attain the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Requirements
The ideal candidate will be hard‑working, respectful, and comply with health & safety standards. Experience in high‑pressure jetting equipment is useful but not essential. Other drainage qualifications (e.g., NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage. A full UK driver’s licence is required.
