We are looking for a Senior Leader to build and develop the first Fieldfisher Business Services Centre based in Belfast. The successful candidate will build the profile of the Centre in Belfast and engage strongly with all UK business areas. Responsibilities Define and execute the long-term operational strategy for the Belfast Centre in alignment with the firm’s objectives, ensuring it supports future growth, innovation, and competitiveness. Act as a senior ambassador for the firm in Northern Ireland, building external relationships and enhancing the firm’s profile through partnerships, community engagement, and thought leadership. Serve as a key liaison and cheerleader between the Belfast office and senior leadership across the UK firm, to ensure operational and business alignment. In conjunction with the Chief Strategy Officer and Operations Director, lead the strategic development and expansion of the Belfast office, positioning it as a centre of excellence within the firm and a driver of innovation, efficiency, and value. Create a culture of high performance and oversee senior hiring, workforce planning, and organisational design to ensure the Belfast office attracts, retains, and develops top talent aligned with the firm’s culture and ambitions. Champion continuous improvement and operational transformation initiatives, identifying and implementing systems, structures, and processes that enhance service delivery, cost-effectiveness, and agility. Shape and sustain a high-performance, inclusive, and collaborative culture that reflects the firm’s values and strengthens employee engagement and well-being. Maintain ultimate accountability for the Belfast office, to include but not limited to: adhering to legal, regulatory, and internal policy standards ensuring robust governance and risk management practices are in place overseeing all aspects of health & safety compliance for the office managing landlord relationships, such as overseeing leases, rent, rates, and service charge expenditure. Lead budget planning and cost control measures for the Belfast operation, including oversight of vendor relationships, procurement, and operational spend. Skills & Experience Extensive senior leadership experience in a legal services environment. Extensive experience in a senior operational role within a law firm or professional services environment, ideally with a connection to Northern Ireland Strong ability to define and implement operational strategies aligned with global business objectives. Capacity to drive growth, innovation, and competitiveness Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to act as a senior ambassador and build external partnerships Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with senior leadership and external stakeholders and to build networks that support business expansion Ability to position the office as a centre of excellence and drive operational improvements Solid understanding of resourcing, workforce planning, and organisational design and strategies to attract, retain and develop top talent in Belfast Strong analytical skills for identifying and implementing systems, structures, and processes to improve service delivery Ability to foster a high-performance, inclusive, and collaborative culture.
