Hiring Range: $105,000 - $119,700 (DOQ)
Summary
The Town of Shrewsbury is seeking a results-driven leader to guide the daily operations of our well-resourced Highway Division. Reporting to the Director of Public Works, the successful candidate will advance a modern, professional culture focused on roadway infrastructure repair, maintenance, and management while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer service.
This role requires a leader who can plan strategically and engage directly with the work, balancing operational oversight with team development. You will manage a dedicated staff, oversee contractors, and coordinate with other DPW divisions to deliver reliable, efficient services to the community.
What You'll Do
Core responsibilities, all to be managed with sound planning and a strong safety focus, include:
* Roadway and sidewalk maintenance
* Supporting stormwater system upkeep
* Overseeing snow and ice operations
* Manage and mentor the highway division team and effectively delegate tasks
* Effectively communicate with other departments and members of the public
* Work with Town Leadership Team to effectively manage department budget and supplies to ensure smooth operation and financial responsibility
What We're Looking For
* High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience in highway operations required
* Experience in supervising staff (especially in a public works environment) preferred
* Strong Interpersonal skills; the ability to manage both staff members and answer questions and concerns from Residents regarding the Highway division
* Valid CDL required
