Relief support worker
Posted: 14 September
Offer description

Overview

Be among the first 25 applicants. At CrossReach, our mental health services help people live with dignity, independence and support. As a Relief Support Worker, you’ll play an important role in making this happen.

Relief work means stepping in when needed, bringing compassion, flexibility and energy to the team. You’ll support residents and clients with daily living, encourage them to explore hobbies and community life, and provide the care and reassurance they need to thrive. No two shifts will be the same, but every one will make a difference.

What You’ll Be Doing

* Provide day-to-day care and support in residential and day care settings
* Assist with personal care, health and wellbeing needs
* Encourage independence and support people to pursue their own interests
* Contribute to care plans and work as a key worker where required
* Support residents to take part in community activities and build social connections
* Work flexibly across day, evening, weekend and overnight shifts

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications and Skills)

We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, reliable and eager to make a difference. Experience in social care is helpful but not essential. If you have the right values, we’ll provide training to build your skills. You’ll bring patience, respect and the ability to build trusting relationships, along with basic IT skills. To take on this role, you’ll also need to register with the SSSC and be a member of the PVG Scheme.

Why This Role Matters

Relief work offers flexibility that can fit around your life, while giving you the opportunity to gain experience and grow your career in mental health care. Most importantly, it means being there when people need support the most.

Application

Apply today and help us make every day count. CrossReach has been at the forefront of high quality social care for over 150 years, providing loving care to people of all ages and supporting them to live life to the full whatever their circumstances. We are part of the Church of Scotland and aim to provide social care services and specialist resources in Christ’s name to further the caring work of the Church to people in challenging circumstances.

As we do our work in Christ’s name you must be respectful of our Christian Ethos and be able to work within it. This post requires you to be a member of the PVG Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration. We have a legal obligation to ensure that we do not employ any worker who has not been granted the relevant permission to work in the UK. This permission is granted by UK Visas and Immigration. We check the entitlement to work in the UK of all prospective employees, regardless of nationality or job category.

Inclusive Workplace

We are committed to attracting, retaining, and developing the very best people to build a diverse and talented team. We recognise that every individual’s background, experience and ability contributes to our success. We aim to create an inclusive and inspiring environment where individuals feel valued and respected and where people can belong, thrive and be their best, whoever they are.
