What you'll be doing?
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Learning and Development team as a Learning Specialist. As our Learning Specialist you will be involved in designing, facilitating and delivering engaging instructional and online learning resources, specifically in relation to the delivery of the East Coast Digital Programme (ECDP) and using our e-learning platform, Articulate.
Owning the end-to-end process of implementing new learning solutions and tools for ERTMS, you will be responsible for taking briefs from internal customers, collaborating with stakeholders throughout the design process, creating compelling and accessible learning solutions and regularly evaluating learning content to ensure user experience and outcomes are maximised.
Acting as a partner to the business, you'll work collaboratively with teams across the business, providing advice and guidance to key stakeholders on the most suitable method of delivery and supporting them in creating learning objectives and the appropriate level of pre and post event evaluation.
You will also be involved in;
1. Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of training design trends, recommending how they may enhance learning at LNER.
2. Supporting the ERTMS programme with the scoping, designing and development of training interventions for our operational departments.
3. Evaluating fully all learning, development and training solutions to ensure they maximise the performance of our people.
4. Delivering technical and non-technical skills training and assessment associated with industry change, incorporating new ways of working in order to improve safety, performance and engagement.
5. Carrying out annual training/learning needs analysis by partnering with key stakeholders to identify future development needs and associated budgets.
6. Ensuring the Head of ERTMS and Operational Training Delivery Manager (Driver) and other key stakeholders are updated on the effectiveness of all programme/s.
7. Working to support and refresh content in collaboration with the business and regional teams.
What you'll need:
We are looking for someone who has drive, resilience and enthusiasm as well as a passion for people development. You'll also have;
8. Experience of designing operational and/or safety critical/compliance training material.
9. Working knowledge of e-Learning platforms and the ability to create modules as required (Articulate would be beneficial).
10. Experience in designing instructor led and blended training solutions.
11. Experience of developing solutions within a customer experience environment and at all levels.
12. Previous experience of designing and delivering learning and development interventions.
13. A proven track record of working within a team which is action orientated to achieve results.
14. Previous successful experience of project management.
15. Excellent communications skills.
16. Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
