We’re looking for a dedicated Ward Sister to manage a team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants within our In‑Patient Unit, working alongside Band 5 charge nurses. You’ll play a key role in delivering and coordinating high‑quality, person‑centred palliative care while supporting the Nurse Manager in fostering a positive and professional working environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership and supervision.
* Support the development of junior staff.
* Contribute to local and national quality improvement initiatives.
* Maintain a significant clinical caseload.
What We’re Looking For
* Registered Nurse with active NMC registration.
* Proven experience at Band 5 level caring for patients with specialist palliative care needs (hospice, hospital or community settings).
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of current palliative care practices.
* A compassionate, person‑centred approach to care.
Qualifications
Relevant Nursing Degree. Post‑registration training in palliative / end‑of‑life care.
Additional Information
Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 6 (aligned with AFC) £41,608 – £50,702.
Contract: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week.
Location: Marie Curie Glasgow Hospice, 133 Balornock Road, Glasgow, G21 3US.
