Job Title: Senior Solicitor

Location: Watford, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (Hybrid after Probation)

Salary: Competitive DOE

An exciting opportunity has arisen due to business growth for an experienced Senior Solicitor to join our client’s successful team in Watford. Hybrid working is available after completion of probation. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload including RTA, EL, and PL cases, ensuring optimal recovery and adherence to policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

* Maximize income per case through recovery of damages, including hire, repairs, recovery, and storage.
* Prepare and conduct cases thoroughly, ensuring all requisite evidence is gathered.
* Report issues, problems, and breaches of compliance promptly to management.
* Provide excellent client care in accordance with service level agreements.
* Mentor and supervise junior team members.
* Ensure compliance with Information Security Policies, including data confidentiality and operational security.
* Perform any additional duties deemed appropriate by the management team.


Person Specification

* Admitted in Scotland with 2-4 years PQE.
* Understanding of credit hire is desirable.
* Court litigation experience, including knowledge of Court of Session and Sheriff Court procedures.
* Experience conducting hearings in Sheriff Courts.
* Ability to handle difficult clients and communicate effectively, providing legal advice as needed.
* Team-oriented with the ability to work towards shared goals.
* Commercially aware and adaptable.
* Effective team player within a commercial environment.
* Flexible and cooperative approach.
* Problem-solving skills with a solution-focused mindset.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* IT literate.
* Committed to personal development.
