Overview
A gentleman is looking for a personal assistant to support him to live an independent life on a day‑to‑day basis. The role involves support in medication pickup, shopping, socialising, public transport, daily routine prompts, home maintenance, admin tasks and personal hygiene.
Responsibilities
* Pick up medication, shop and socialise.
* Plan routes and be comfortable using public transport.
* Provide reassurance and prompts around daily routine, personal hygiene, getting dressed, cooking and maintaining a habitable home.
* Support with sequencing and task planning.
* Assist with admin tasks such as managing medical appointments and letters.
Qualifications
* Reliable, punctual and flexible.
* Experience working as a Personal Assistant with people with brain injury and history of substance abuse is not required but a keen learner would be an advantage.
* Experience with supporting someone with schizophrenia would also be an advantage.
* Friendly, enthusiastic, motivating and caring.
* Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by employer) and references required.
Shift Pattern
Hours: 20 hrs per week, flexible Monday to Sunday. Times to be agreed with employer.
