Overview

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various carpentry techniques and be adept at using both hand and power tools. This role involves working on a variety of projects (first fix and second fix), including joinery, roofing, and general construction tasks. The Carpenter will be responsible for ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
* Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, and wallboard.
* Perform joinery tasks including fitting kitchens, doors, windows, and cabinetry.
* Fabricate wooden structures according to specifications and blueprints.
* Carry out roofing tasks, ensuring proper installation and maintenance.
* Use hand tools such as chisels, saws, hammers, and power tools effectively and safely.
* Assist in masonry work when necessary to support overall project completion.
* Perform heavy lifting as needed to transport materials and equipment on-site.
* Collaborate with other tradespeople including electricians and masons to ensure seamless project execution.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experiences:
* Proven experience as a carpenter (minimum 3 years required)
* A valid UK driver's licence and own transportation is required for travel between job sites.
* Proficient in joinery techniques with a keen eye for detail.
* Ability to fabricate custom woodwork based on project requirements.
* Competent in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to carpentry tasks.
* Strong understanding of roofing systems and installation methods.
* Capability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to health and safety standards.
* Familiarity with masonry work is a plus for integrated projects.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £20.00-£25.00 per hour
