The Security Officer is responsible for the practical application of security measures which include the wellbeing of employees and guests according to agreed policies of the Hotel and the procedures and objectives as set out by the Security Manager. This role operates on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, covering both days and nights, averaging 38.6 hours per week.
* Follow all departmental SOPs, security protocols, and HR policies.
* Ensure team compliance with the Code of Conduct and support new staff.
* Provide a warm, secure welcome to guests and visitors.
* Report hazards, maintenance issues, and safety concerns promptly.
* Identify, assess, and report potential loss or risk situations.
* Investigate thefts, incidents, and safety breaches with accurate documentation.
* Maintain clear records of all occurrences and department activities.
* Conduct required registration checks and submit reports.
* Monitor secure cash handling and provide escorts when needed.
* Manage safe custody items, lost property, and guest loss reports.
* Prevent entry of unauthorized individuals while assisting valid visitors.
* Assist with key control and conduct searches of employees and contractors.
* Support police or government inquiries when required.
* Act effectively in emergencies and follow anti-terror and bomb-threat procedures.
