Job Description
We are looking for a part-time Marketing Assistant to join our small, friendly team based in Brighton Marina. You’ll be working closely with the company director, operations manager, and social media manager to help promote our courses, events, and products, while also bringing fresh ideas to the table.
Your role will involve managing and creating digital content, assisting with newsletters, promoting our events, conducting market research, and helping develop our online presence across multiple channels. You’ll have the freedom to experiment with creative ideas and see the real impact of your work on a growing business.
A love for the outdoors and a green, environmentally conscious mindset are essential.
You must have a passion for the outdoor environment and a green ethos.
Required Skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience or interest in creating digital content (photography, video, or design).
* Good organisational and time management skills.
* Comfortable using computers (ideally Macs) / internet / email / Word / Excel.
* A positive attitude and proactive approach to problem-solving.
* A green ethos and appreciation for the natural environment.
Additional Roles
* Assist with managing and creating content for our social media accounts.
* Help write and design our monthly newsletters.
* Support with marketing our courses, events, and shop products.
* Conduct basic market research to identify new opportunities.
* Help develop ideas for promotional events, partnerships, and new projects.
* Contribute creative input for blogs, website updates, and advertising materials.
Distinct Advantage
* Studying or experience in Marketing, Communications, or related subjects.
* Experience managing social media for a brand or business.
* Photography, video editing, or graphic design experience.
* Creative writing (newsletters, blogs, or web content).
* Familiarity with the outdoor or leisure industry.
* A genuine interest in activities such as climbing, kayaking, or adventure travel.

Training Courses
As well as staff discounts on equipment, you will be able to attend all of our courses free of charge or at cost price including; rock climbing, abseiling, kayaking, navigation, mountaineering, first aid. You will also have the opportunity of gaining instructor qualifications should you wish. We will also help with any third-party job specific training where relevant to your work.
Pay
£10.18 - £12.21 per hour depending on previous experience. Pay is reviewed yearly depending on performance and growth of the business.
Hours
We are looking for someone to work 1-2 full days per week, however this may slightly vary from week to week.
