Finance Manager
* Contract Type: Temporary (Hybrid - 1 day a week in office)
* Location: Huddersfield, HD1
* Daily Rate: £500
We are seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the social care and learning support sectors, including SEND and the High Needs Safety Valve agreement. This role also encompasses school funding responsibilities. The successful candidate will support the combination of both portfolios into one role, under the guidance of an experienced senior finance manager.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Line management of approximately 8 staff.
* Oversight of social care and schools finance.
* Monthly financial monitoring and reporting.
* Attendance at senior leadership meetings.
* Responding to ad hoc queries and requests.
* Focus on financial reporting and analysis, with minimal written reporting.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Local authority experience.
* Ability to hit the ground running with minimal onboarding.
* Qualified accountant or qualified by experience with a proven track record.
* Experience presenting at senior leadership level.
* Experience in school funding
* Flexibility on line management experience for the second role.
