Overview
A position has opened for a Production Engineer to join the Manufacturing Engineering department in Margate, Kent.
Responsibilities:
1. Produce, validate, and edit CNC programs via interpretation of engineering drawings.
2. Act as point of reference for resolution of production related issues.
3. Create and maintain manufacturing process documentation (manufacturing instructions, methods, and routings) for new and existing products in accordance with relevant engineering drawings and standards.
4. Create and maintain manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and test apparatus in accordance with internal specifications and/or associated standards.
5. Identify and implement improved process efficiency and cost reductions through technological advances, lean tools/techniques, and utilization of plant equipment.
6. Lead training and team development for production processes including setting and operation of machine centres.
7. Support the maintenance department in fault finding and resolution to minimise downtime.
8. Collaborate with Manufacturing team members, design engineers and Vendors to support new product launches.
Key skills
9. Mechanical or electrical engineering qualification (Degree, HND, City and Guilds or apprentice trained)
10. Working experience in the manufacturing industry with a bias towards machining operations
11. Proven experience as CNC Production Engineer Full understanding of operating CNC machinery
12. Experience of MAZAK CNC Machines would be beneficial.
13. Excellent communication skills
14. Experience: Preferably 5+ years in an Engineering/manufacturing environment.
15. Possess the confidence and skills to lead projects in line with the above responsibilities.
16. Strong computer programming skills using relevant software packages would be of an advantage.
17. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
