Role Summary
We are recruiting for a Technical Sales Consultant to join our Brewery & Beverage (B&B) Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* The servicing and support of the end user customer accounts. In this case 3 days / week will be spent in one very large brewery
* Maintaining and increasing the sales of company products.
* The management of the customer accounts, keeping company management informed of relevant issues.
* Operating within the agreed structured site support plans applied to each customer.
* Maintaining both company and customer paperwork systems.
* Proactively providing effective advice and practical assistance to customer problems.
* Giving sales presentations and preparing proposals following company policy and guidelines.
* Working as part of a team, working with the field-based team, head office support staff and management.
* Training of customer staff both in the classroom and hands on for chemical safety and product applications.
* Providing audits of customer sites in line with the company audit format.
* Ensuring that the full technical service packages are implemented in customer sites.
* Chemical strength testing and monitoring at customer sites.
* Maintaining both the CRM system and supporting service planner.
Key Skills / Attributes / Core Competencies
* Have experience and knowledge of the brewing and beverage industry, ideally having worked in Quality Control or a Technical role.
* Have a good basic knowledge of microbiology, engineering and detergent chemistry.
* Hold or be willing to work towards a recognized IBD qualification or similar.
* Ability to plan for and manage multiple priorities.
* Full driving licence.
* Ability to continually improve quality and effectiveness in all activities.
* IT literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate communication between teams and with customers and colleagues in person via email and over the phone.
* Flexibility with the ability to work as part of a team but also on own initiative.
* Ability to generate new business and maintain customer relationships.
* Organised and efficient to meet deadlines and deliver objectives.
* Calm and confident with problem solving skills.
