NHS Forth Valley is seeking a passionate and experienced individual to undertake the role of Practice Education Facilitator (PEF) Team Lead within our dynamic team. This exciting leadership role is key in supporting the delivery of high-quality education and training within clinical practice settings, ensuring a positive learning environment for all.
The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction for a team of Practice Education Facilitators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in practice. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the development of our workforce, ensuring that staff are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and support to our future workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the Practice Education Facilitator team, ensuring effective support and development for all facilitators.
2. Develop, implement, and evaluate educational strategies that align with NHS Forth Valley's workforce development objectives.
3. Provide expert advice and support to clinical staff and educators, ensuring that clinical placements meet the highest standards.
4. Collaborate with key stakeholders across NHS Forth Valley and external partners such as NES and Higher Education Institutions to enhance learning opportunities and improve the quality of education.
5. Lead the development and delivery of training initiatives and workshops to support practice-based learning.
6. Monitor, assess, and report on the progress of educational outcomes within clinical environments.
7. Foster strong relationships with university partners and other educational institutions to ensure a cohesive approach to clinical education.
8. Contribute to the strategic development of practice-based education across NHS Forth Valley, ensuring that all education is evidence-based and reflects best practices.
Essential Criteria:
9. Registered Healthcare Professional with current NMC, HCPC, or equivalent registration.
10. Significant experience in practice education and/or clinical teaching, with a strong understanding of education theory and practice.
11. Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in leading and developing teams.
12. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams.
13. Knowledge and experience of relevant NHS policies, procedures, and frameworks related to practice education.
14. A commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
15. Ability to think strategically and influence change.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
