Salary: £26,641 per annum inclusive of 5% high-cost area allowance
Role Overview:
Our client is seeking a Trainee Careers Adviser to join their expanding in-custody IAG service at HMP Coldingley. Working as part of a collaborative team, the Trainee Careers Adviser will provide professional, impartial guidance to prison residents, supporting them in developing work-related skills and facilitating their transition into employment, education, training, apprenticeships, or volunteering opportunities upon their release. The role will be 29.6 hours, part-time, 4 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide professional, impartial IAG to prison residents, motivating them and supporting their personal and professional development.
Collaborate with colleagues to deliver effective careers guidance services within the prison setting.
Receive full training and support to obtain an accredited formal IAG Level 4 qualification.
Build effective and professional relationships with individual clients, demonstrating empathy and a non-judgmental attitude.
Support individuals in identifying and accessing relevant opportunities to enhance their employability and skills.
Maintain accurate records of interactions and outcomes using relevant systems and databases.
