Data and Insight Analyst
The Growth Company (GC) Business Finance team have an exciting opportunity for a Data and Insight Analyst to join our Business Finance and Lending Division.

As our lending portfolios grow, high‑quality data insight is vital to keeping our operations sustainable, transparent, and aligned with our values.
In this role, you’ll develop and maintain the division’s analytics capability, delivering reporting, dashboards, and actionable insight. You’ll provide trusted data to support decision‑making across finance, credit, and operations, working closely with the Divisional Director to shape priorities and turn insight into practical improvements.
While the focus will be on reporting and portfolio analysis, there will also be opportunities to support emerging predictive analytics as the function evolves. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, improving data structures, and translating complex information into clear, meaningful intelligence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Build and maintain core analytics foundations for the division.
2. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and clear documentation.
3. Work with the Divisional Director to align analytics activity with strategy.
4. Introduce best practice in data management, reporting, and analysis.
5. Create and maintain SQL reports for operational and contractual needs.
6. Build Power BI dashboards that provide clear, actionable insight.
7. Support finance/treasury function with accurate data for reconciliations and reporting.
8. Enhance reporting frameworks to ensure they are scalable and fit for purpose.
9. Translate complex data into clear visuals and summaries.
10. Analyse lending portfolio performance across the full lifecycle.
11. Support understanding of arrears, bad debt, and operational drivers.
12. Carry out exploratory analysis to identify risks, trends, and opportunities.
13. Provide insight to drive operational improvement and planning.
14. Contribute to initiatives that improve fairness, efficiency, and sustainability.
About You:
15. Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive.
16. Confident working with technical, operational, and strategic stakeholders.
17. Skilled at translating complex data into clear, practical insight.
18. Experienced in interrogating, transforming, and presenting data effectively.
Skills:
19. Background in collections, arrears management, debt analytics, or a similar analytical environment.
20. Advanced SQL capability, with a strong track record of building MI and reporting frameworks.
21. Knowledge of Azure Synapse Analytics and cloud-based data platforms.
22. Proficient in Power BI (or similar), able to create clear, decision‑ready dashboards.
23. Skilled at producing insight that is interpretable, proportionate, and actionable.
24. Strong data interrogation, transformation, and validation skills.
25. Competence in Python (or similar) for analytical work or modelling.
26. Proven ability to develop predictive models that support operational decision‑making.
27. Familiarity with predictive modelling within a credit or financial services context.
28. Involvement in developing or expanding longer‑term analytics or insight capabilities.
