A dynamic school in Mablethorpe is seeking a dedicated and emotionally intelligent SEMH Support Assistant to join their team. This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference to young people who require consistent, structured support in order to thrive both emotionally and academically.
Job Responsibilities of the SEMH Support Assistant:
* Support students with SEMH needs, both in class and during unstructured times.
* Implement de-escalation strategies and emotional regulation techniques.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to adapt learning materials and strategies.
* Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning activities.
* Provide pastoral support and act as a trusted adult for students who need it most.
* Always maintain a safe and supportive environment.
Job Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or in alternative provisions.
* Resilience, patience, and the ability to build trust with vulnerable students.
* A calm, proactive approach to managing challenging situations.
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
* A genuine commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
