We are excited to offer a rare opportunity for a practitioner to join our Respiratory CPAP team. Are you a Health Care Assistant or from a Health Care Science/Physiology background looking to join an innovative team?

Main duties of the job

We provide out patient services across the Tees Valley for patients requiring continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP). The successful candidate will be an active member of a multidisciplinary team demonstrating a range of clinical skills to meet the needs of the patient in a safe, caring environment that promotes dignity, privacy and respect under appropriate supervision of a specialist nurse to a degree of autonomy.

Training and development will be provided.

Leadership and Improvement Training

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the New and Aspiring leaders programme, and the Foundation Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. After you complete this one and a half day of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

1. Level 1 in Maths/English or equivalent
2. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent demonstrable experience

Desirable criteria

3. Familiar with In Touch, e-Camis. E-procurement and FAIR

Knowledge

Essential criteria

4. Knowledge and experience of providing person centred care
5. Demonstrate the behaviours and skills of a carer and act as a professional role model
6. Ability to demonstrate 6Cs in practice
7. Communicates effectively with good listening skills and is able to adopt an appropriate style and method of communication
8. Ability to present written information clearly
9. Positive approach to customer care
10. Ability to work effectively in a busy environment without direct supervision
11. Ability to use initiative to make a decision within sphere of work and/or knowledge recognising where assistance is required

Experience

Essential criteria

12. Previous experience of working as part of a team
13. Previous experience of working in health and/or social care in a caring role
14. Previous experience in a caring role
