Job overview An exciting opportunity for a locum Neonatal Consultant post, applicants both full and part time considered. Advert The postholder will manage and take overall responsibility for the health care for a proportion of all babies delivered in Bradford and needing admission to the neonatal unit or transitional care. The postholder will participate in an on call rota, on a 1 in 7 basis. Service periods will usually be a week at a time, and will be shared between consultants. Outpatient services will be provided to all babies allocated to the care of the postholder. These outpatient clinics will not be held when the postholder is on service. The postholder will provide and supervise general neonatal care to those well infants who are cared for on postnatal wards, and collaborate with other disciplines to continue to enhance the services provided. The postholder will be covering a maternity gap. The postholder will participate in an on call rota, on a 1 in 7 basis. Service periods will usually be a week at a time, and will be shared between consultants. Outpatient services will be provided to all babies allocated to the care of the postholder. These outpatient clinics will not be held when the postholder is on service. The postholder will provide and supervise general neonatal care to those well infants who are cared for on postnatal wards, and collaborate with other disciplines to continue to enhance the services provided. The postholder may lead on one or more service developments to be agreed with the consultant team. The postholder will share responsibility for managing the neonatal service with colleagues, the unit manager and senior management. The postholder will share responsibility for providing line management and support to trainee doctors, including providing support to QI / audit projects and supporting a proportion of the trainees through educational supervision.
