Are you a detail-oriented and organised Finance Assistant looking to bring your skills to a dynamic and rewarding educational environment? Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working in partnership with a highly regarded school in Northampton, who are seeking a dedicated Finance Assistant to join their administrative team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with school-based finance experience - or similar - who is looking for a varied and fulfilling role within a supportive and professional setting. You'll be working alongside a skilled business and admin team to help ensure the smooth day-to-day financial operations of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assisting with the preparation and monitoring of school budgets
2. Processing purchase orders, invoices, and payments
3. Managing petty cash, staff expenses, and reconciliations
4. Supporting payroll processes and liaising with external providers
5. Assisting with monthly and year-end financial reporting
6. Ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
7. Previous experience in a finance or school office role (SIMS/FMS/PS Financials knowledge desirable)
8. A strong understanding of financial procedures and systems
9. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software
11. The ability to work independently and as part of a team
12. A friendly, professional manner with good communication skills
