The Head Housekeeper position at Avery Healthcare in Ilkley Burley in Wharfedale is a permanent role with a salary of £14.00 per hour. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the housekeeping and laundry cleaning service to ensure a high‑quality and comprehensive care service is delivered to residents.
Shift Details: 08:00 – 16:30 (includes weekends)
Main duties of the job
As the Head Housekeeper, your focus will be to oversee the housekeeping and laundry cleaning service, prepare orders for cleaning materials, monitor standards of work, and supervise and direct the housekeeping team. You should have experience in cleaning and managing laundry in a public setting, knowledge of health and safety, and the ability to lead and develop teams.
Job responsibilities
* Carry out all cleaning duties as per the housekeeping job description.
* Prepare orders for Home Manager approval for all cleaning materials with approved suppliers whilst complying with procedures to maintain appropriate stock levels and control and ensuring good quality products are purchased within agreed budget limits.
* Monitor standards of work of the housekeeping and laundry team to consistently maintain high cleanliness standards.
* Supervise and direct the work of the housekeeping team, providing instruction and demonstration to new staff on cleaning tasks and materials.
About you
* Experience in cleaning and managing laundry in a public setting.
* Knowledge of health and safety, including moving and handling techniques, fire safety, and COSHH assessments.
* Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of കണ്ട high‑quality housekeeping/laundry service to residents.
* Demonstrate the ability to lead, supervise and develop teams.
