We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Patents Paralegal for a 12-month fixed-term contract to support lawyers on complex patent matters. Drawing on experience in intellectual property or commercial litigation, you will assist with litigation and trial preparation, manage case files, conduct legal and technical research, attend client meetings, and contribute to disclosure review and due diligence for IP transactions. In addition, you will play a key part in business development initiatives within our intellectual property team.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist lawyers in patent-related litigation, including organising documentation and managing case files.
* Prepare trial bundles for court hearings.
* Manage action lists on larger matters and assist with the allocation of workflows.
* Conduct legal and technical research.
* Attend client and expert meetings.
* Support disclosure review exercises.
* Support the due diligence process for IP aspects of corporate transactions.
* Support business development and know-how projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* A bachelor's degree; paralegal certification desired but not essential.
* Experience as a paralegal focusing on intellectual property or commercial litigation.
* An interest in patent litigation and transactional IP matters.
* Strong communication skills for effectively collaborating with both clients and cross-functional teams within the firm.
* Proven organisational abilities to manage complex tasks concurrently under tight deadlines.
* The adaptability required to thrive in dynamic environments where business needs evolve rapidly.
* Keen attention to detail essential for reviewing legal documents associated with patents.
