We are seeking an experienced Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join a dedicated team. This is a pivotal role in driving best practice, promoting children’s rights, and ensuring robust care and safety planning for the most vulnerable in the community. Your role as Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO): Lead and chair statutory reviews for Children We Care For, ensuring compliance and quality Drive performance oversight and challenge practice where standards fall short Manage a diverse caseload during a period of team transition Work independently across placements, maintaining child-centred outcomes Collaborate across teams, attending weekly in-person meetings Your previous experience as Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO): Proven experience at management level within children’s services Must be a registered IRO with SWE – not a social worker Strong understanding of legislation, safeguarding and reviewing processes Demonstrable ability to challenge, influence and improve practice Experience managing complex caseloads in a local authority setting If you’re interested in discussing this opportunity in more detail or know someone who this may be of interest to, please contact Sarah Macrae on 0117 3137110 or apply today.
